A Season of New Beginnings
Dear Friends and Family,
We hope this letter finds you well we observe the close of one year and the beginning of another. It has been a season of change and growth for our little family as we embarked on this new chapter in ministry.
This past November of 2024, we entered service to the addiction recovery ministry at His Mansion Ministries, and the journey has already been a blessing to us. We are excited to share some of the highlights of this past holiday season with you.
Holiday Fun with the Residents
The Christmas season began with a festive Sister’s Night, where Jocelyn joined the women residents for a night of Christmas fun. They played games, enjoyed a charcuterie spread, and watched the classic holiday movie White Christmas.

Rune participated in the men’s Brother’s Night. The male residents and staff held a pizza-making contest. Events like these are a beautiful reminder that recovery is about more than overcoming addiction—it’s about rediscovering joy in the simple moments together.
Christmas "Coffee House" Performances
Later in the month, the ministry hosted a Coffee House Night, a time for residents, staff, and community members to share their talents. From singing and poetry to comedy and storytelling, the evening was filled with heartfelt moments and plenty laughter.
Christmas & New Years

Christmas Day was the height of the season. We gathered in Griggs Hall to share a delicious meal, enjoyed watching residents open their gifts, and participated in a white elephant gift exchange. For many residents, this was their first Christmas sober or their first emotionally healthy holiday in years.
Witnessing the hope, joy and gratitude in each resident was heart-touching. It reminded us why we’re here: to walk alongside these men and women as they heal, grow, and draw closer to the Lord.
All three of us had a cozy and low-key New Years, where we watched movies and stayed up to ring in the New Year all together.
As a Side-Note: Saying Goodbye to a Furry Friend

Meet Oreo the goat.
Shortly before we arrived at His Mansion four goats were donated to this ministry as a way to manage the weeds in the several paddocks on the hill. Three of the goats are brother and the fourth one was from another mother and was born a runt. Because of his tiny size, he was hand raised and bottle fed by humans. Because of the way he was raised Oreo had very different desires than his fellow goat friends. Oreo craved to be around humans and because he was so tiny, he could squeeze under the electric fence to seek out human interaction whenever he wanted! We would randomly find Oreo all over the farm, so much so that management started to worry about his welfare. And although Oreo thought he was just like a dog, he was a goat after-all; so no one on the hill could properly take him into their home and he kept escaping from the paddock. This week Oreo went home to his original family to be loved and cared for. Our little family had to have one last cuddle with Oreo before he left His Mansion.
Being part of this ministry, we feel privileged to serve in a place where God’s grace is so clearly at work. Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we navigate this new chapter. We look forward to sharing more stories of hope and transformation in the months to come.
Please continue to pray for Rune as he learns all the responsibilities of his new role.
Pray for Kane to be able to adjust to our new life here at His Mansion.
Please also continue to pray for the female and male residents to heal and come to know the Lord.
With Love for Lord and Gratitude in Heart to Serve Him,
The Lekkerkerkers:
Rune, Jocelyn, & Kane
